Holistic Relief for Foot and Ankle Pain with Chiropractic Care

Is foot pain keeping you from the activities you love? Do you struggle to run errands or visit friends and family because limited ankle mobility makes walking challenging? At EleVis Wellness Collective, we offer chiropractic care for foot and ankle pain–an all-natural approach to managing discomfort and resolving underlying issues.
Foot and ankle pain are common complaints with several potential causes, namely overuse injuries that affect the ligaments, muscles, tendons, or delicate bones found throughout the foot and ankle. The good news is that most of these injuries don’t require surgery or other invasive treatment methods.
In fact, chiropractic care is often enough to provide the relief you need! Many people are surprised to hear this; they associate chiropractic care with back or neck pain. While we emphasize the importance of the spine in overall health, our chiropractors understand your body’s musculoskeletal system as a whole–including your foot and ankle.
Let’s look at Dave’s story to help illustrate the effectiveness of chiropractic care for foot and ankle pain. Want more personalized information? Schedule an appointment today!
Chiropractic Care: An All-Natural Approach to Foot and Ankle Pain
When Dave visited our Chicago clinic for the first time, he’d been living with persistent pain in his left heel for weeks. Sometimes, it radiated up into the bottom of his calf; other times, it was concentrated in his heel and ankle. He also noticed that his left heel wasn’t as mobile as his right, making it harder for him to play tennis on the weekends–something he always looked forward to.
After a thorough examination, our chiropractor determined the source of Dave’s pain: an overuse injury in his Achilles tendon, which runs along the heel and calf. Officially called Achilles tendonitis, the condition is easily treatable with hands-on chiropractic care.
Our goals were two-fold: we wanted to help minimize Dave’s pain, but we also wanted to address the damaged tendon that was causing his pain in the first place.
We started with regular ankle adjustments. Just as a chiropractor can adjust your spine, we can adjust any joint in your body. The process involves sharply thrusting the joint through its current range of motion, facilitating blood circulation and helping to improve mobility.
We also performed soft tissue manipulation on Dave’s affected ankle, helping ease out restrictions in the muscles, tendons, and ligaments impacting his ankle mobility. Dave told us he found these hands-on treatments fairly relaxing, too–a bit like a massage.
However, these techniques were only part of Dave’s treatment plan. We also provided Dave with targeted corrective exercises to restore strength and mobility to his affected ankle. We guided him through these exercises in our office, but we also gave him a schedule to continue the exercises at home, helping to maximize his rehabilitation.
Walk Away from Foot and Ankle Pain
After a month of regular treatment, Dave no longer struggled with Achilles’ tendonitis–or any pain in his foot and ankle. He could return to his weekly tennis games, and he had restored his overall mobility.
